Venue, Visa and Travel to Erbil

Erbil

Erbil serves as the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, recognized by UNESCO as the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city. Dating back at least 6,000 years, the city has maintained a vibrant existence from ancient times to the present day (source: NASAUNESCO). Kurdistan, operating as a semi-independent state within Iraq according to the Iraqi constitution (gov.krd), is home to a diverse population of 7 million people. The region boasts a rich tapestry of ethnicities, including Kurds, Turkmens, Caldas, Syriacs, and Assyrians, alongside a variety of religious communities, such as Muslims, Christians, Ezidies, Zoroastrianism, and Kakayees. Known for its openness and tolerance, Kurdistan stands as a free and inclusive haven in the Middle East, welcoming individuals of all cultures, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. Renowned for its safety, it is considered one of the safest places in the region, attracting numerous tourists from the southern part of Iraq, neighboring countries and around the world to explore its countless tourist sites.
